Frequently Asked Questions

What is your address, phone number and operating hours?
We are located at 15321 Barranca Pkwy, Irvine CA 92618 our phone number is 888-827-9777. We take calls from 8:00am to 5:00 pm PST Monday through Friday. You can send a fax 949-788-6111 or email support@MGOprint.com at any time. We sometimes answer emails late and on the weekend.

What about security?
Many experts agree that ordering with a secure server on the internet is just as safe if not safer than ordering through mail order or buying from stores. Visa has a no liability policy and most other credit card companies limit your liability to under $50 in the case of fraudulent credit card use.

Two color vs. full color printing.
Can I print 2-color brochures with you? Yes you can! If you choose to print 2 color brochures of any other product you must provide the file in Quark or InDesign to get a discount. If you send your file in any other format we would still use 4 color printing to give you the 2 color effect. Just make a note in the special instructions area when you place your order and we will email you the price to be billed.

Can you print jobs that are different sizes than you have listed?
Yes we can! Use a paper bigger than your job and we will trim it to size. If you need a special paper or have special requirements like foil or embossing we can do that too! We are a full commercial printer that can handle almost any job. For more custom order information go to the custom link on each menu bar.

How do I order multiple items?
Please place a separate order for each piece you want printed. For example, if you want 2 different 8.5x11 brochures, then place 2 separate orders. The price for 5,000 of one brochure is not the same as the price for 2,500 each of 2 different brochures.

What kind of paper do you use?
We use several different papers, depending on what you are ordering. The individual pricing pages show all of the standard options. We use a high quality sheet for all orders. Let us know if you need a different paper than listed and we can give you the additional cost.

How close will the color match on my printing job to what I see on my color monitor?
Color usually looks very good but because of the differences in monitor calibration no one can guarantee a match. If you need a precise color match then use the option for a digital proof. This is a proof directly from the file and the color match is very accurate.

Will you match an inkjet proof from my printer, or a previously printed sample from another printer?
Inkjet and laser prints are known to look substantially different than offset printing. We offer quick turnaround and low prices by printing to a "pleasing color" standard, using standard ink densities. There is no guarantee that your finished piece will match your printed sample. This is due to the varying results from different output devices including inkjet printers, continuous tone proofing devices, film-based proofs. The final product we deliver to you is not likely to match the output from your output device but it will look more professional!

Is there a re-order discount?
Yes, some exact reprints will be charged $50 less, some orders will be more like catalogs. $25 discount on cards. Use our Desktop PDF print driver to receive additional discounts.

How do I place an order and have someone else upload or PDF print my files separately?
Use the ordering pages and select the "I will have someone else use upload my files or use the Desktop PDF print driver" option. We will send you an email with the information needed to upload your files when you're ready. You may then forward the email to the person who is uploading your files.

How long does it take for me to get the proof ?
If you use our Desktop PDF print driver it will only take a couple of minutes before you are able to approve/reject your proof. If you send your native electronic files you should get your online proof within 1-2 business days. There are many advantages to using our Desktop PDF print driver.

How long will it take to get my order delivered to me?
Most jobs will be shipped within 5 business days from proof approval. Check each different category for specific timelines. Shipping by UPS takes from 1 to 5 business days most of the time depending on your location.

Can I get my order delivered quicker?
Yes, just select one of the faster production times or upgrade your shipping options when you place your order. Our standard delivery for most printing orders usually take about 7-10 days including printing and shipping. Most color copy orders take only 3-4 days and for an additional charge can be delivered as fast as 1 day.

Special Shipping Services
Our shipping prices are valid within the continental United States. For Alaska and Hawaii, please order using 2nd Day Air service. We are also happy to ship to you anywhere around the world. Please provide us the exact shipping address (street address if available), along with the quantity and product type you want to order, and we will let you know the additional shipping costs. Please note that some services are not available to all countries.

Will I receive the exact quantity I order?
Most of the time you will receive a few extra, free of charge. On occasion, we ship slightly fewer pieces than you ordered. Printing trade standards allow for underages or overages of up to 5% so if you plan to send your order to a mailing house or need an exact quantity then we recommend that you order 10% over the quantity you need.

What if I want to change something on my order after I've approved the proof?
We require a change order for all changes made after your order is placed. You may make changes to such things as quantity, shipping time, or shipping address by going to the change order page. Please note that some changes cannot be made after certain production stages have passed such as, the quantity or type changes or paper type cannot be changed once your job has been printed.

What file formats can you take?
We can take any Mac or PC version of Quark, InDesign, CorelDRAW!, Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, Publisher, Word, PowerPoint and any file output as a PDF.  You can save time and money and use or Desktop PDF print driver which allows you to generate a print ready file from almost ANY digital file right from your computer.  No more problems with font conflicts or word wrapping.

What types of storage media do you accept?
We can take your files on a CD, Zip or Jaz disk.

Should I use "Pack an Go" for my Publisher files or just send them as *.pub files?
We highly recommend the Desktop PDF Printing method but if you want to send a Publisher file, send the normal *.pub file and don't compress it with "Pack and Go." We can work with either type but we prefer to get the normal, uncompressed file. If you are sending Publisher files with linked graphics (generally NOT recommended), please gather all the associated files into a single zipped file, and send us that. Compressing files with Winzip or PK Zip is also the preferred method for Quark, InDesign, Illustrator, InDesign or any file with linked graphics. If you are using a font that is not included with Publisher, please send it along with your file. You can either Zip them together or upload the font separately.

How much bleed should I have for an envelope?
If you are printing your envelope as part of the stationery package then 1/16 inch is the correct amount since it will wrap a little to the back of the envelope. If you are printing full color envelopes only then we need at least 7/16" in the top of the envelope for the press to grip onto the paper. You may have the image go to within 1/16" on the sides of the envelope. We can not have a bleed when printing only envelopes.

How many up should I have my business card or post card and should I set a bleed?
Send us a single layout 1 up of your file. We will handle the layout and any imposition needed on our end. If you use our Desktop PDF printer then the bleed on your file should be 1/8".

What is the best setting for my digital camera when taking pictures for printing?
Be sure set the camera to the highest quality setting. This means that if you can only save one image on the picture card instead of 12 or 64 images, then this is good! You want to create the highest quality picture that the camera can take. This means large file sizes and slow downloads from the camera to your hard drive, but it will give you the best possible results from your camera. Don’t forget, images should be at 300dpi in their final size in the layout so be careful if you are enlarging the file.

More often than not we notice that some images that come from digital cameras print a little darker than expected on the press. Check to see if you have a brightness option in your image editing program and lighten the entire piece a little. Here is a good time to change the color space from RGB to CMYK. It is always better to have you change the color space than for us to do it. Not all colors that you can see that are created by elements of light (RGB) can be created by the elements of ink (CMYK) on press. If you do not have this capability with your software, do not worry about it, we will change it for you for free!

Can I tell what image resolution my digital camera is?
Some digital cameras let you know what the image resolution is, others will tell you what the pixel dimensions of your image are. If you know what the pixel dimensions of your images are you can do a little math to determine the resolution and the size you can print the image for good quality crisp printing.

Write down the pixel dimensions of your image and divide those numbers by 300. If the image includes text then divide those numbers by 400. For example: An image without any text has a pixel dimension of 1200 x 1800 pixels. Once each dimension is divided by 300 the result is 4 x 6 inches. This means that you can use this image at 4 x 6 inches or smaller for good quality printing results. If your image editing software does not tell you what the pixel dimensions are but it does tell you what the resolution is, then you know the maximum size you can use that image in your layout. We recommend that images be at 300dpi in their final size and 400dpi if the images include text. Please keep in mind that resolution and physical dimensions are in direct proportion to each other. If you have an image that is 4x4 at 300dpi and increase its size in the layout to 8x8 the new resolution is now 150dpi. Remember, when you bring an image in to your layout you can shrink it down in size but you will be limited as to how far you can increase it in size.
